Positive thinking: If live give us lemons, let’s make tequila!
Positive thinking. Life is not perfect. And the simple realization of this fact is sometimes the reason to bring us down. But if we are not perfect, how could life be?
The pursuit of perfection is, more often than we would like to admit, an inglorious run. Because the real truth is that we control almost anything. We make plans, we imagine things, we fight to have a better life, or job or relationship. Sometimes we achieve big things. Other times life change our plans and make us try again.
But what does positive thinking have to do with it? If it is true that things won’t always happen as we would like them to, it’s also true that our reaction can determine the following events. Confused? Not really! The maxim that we can not control what happens to us, but we can control how to react to what happens to us, has governed my life since my mother has passed away in 2014. And it has been an ally when I need to face bad moments. Actually, facing them with positive thinking is halfway to make them go away faster, believe me.
Yes, sometimes life gives us lemons. Those acid ones that make our eyes cry and fall into tears and hurt our hands. But we can make a tequila or a lemonade with them, and move on. Or we can let its acidity corrode the body, the existence, the soul. The choice is always ours.

And, this is when positive thinking is crucial. We need to believe in good things and value them, so we can move forward. Because life has both good times and bad times, like a roller coaster in which we were forced to enter. It is true that some are happier than others, but the energy we have (and believe in) is the energy we draw to ourselves.
Does that mean that everything is always going to be okay, just because we think positive? No, of course not. But, as in everything, after the storm, there is always sun. And the more we focus on the good, the faster it comes. And the easier it becomes to deal with the bad.
So yes, let’s think positive. Life is a breath, and at the end of the day, it is the combination of good times with bad fragments, plus our state of mind, which makes us what we are.
And who doesn’t want to be a cheerful person, with a good tequila in the hand? Viva la vida!
