Mills of Gavinhos: are they worth a visit?
Mills of Gavinhos. I learned about the existence of the Gavinhos Windmills by the easiest way to discover things today: on Instagram. And, if it is true that the Internet has brought us enough bad things, so it is that never, as today, we have so much access to information. Therefore, as in everything, it is up to us to see the good side of things.
I saw and put the Gavin Mills on my bucket list. We ended up going there on a sunny Saturday and the landscape did not disappoint (it is in the village of Gavinhos, about 20 minutes away from Coimbra).
Although some Mills are abandoned, there are still three in order to function. But I read that only one really works. After all, in the village of Gavinhos only a miller stood the test of time, continuing to devote himself to the craft.

In addition to the beautiful landscape that the mills offer, it is also possible to have a panoramic view of the Mills and the village, next to the image of the Immaculate Heart of Mary that is clearly there to bless the village in an ode to the winds that, the mills work and supply the region with cereals like corn, wheat or rye.
So, if you are looking for cool places in Portugal and want to immerse yourself in beautiful landscapes, do not forget to visit the Mills of Gavinhos. And, of course, take the camera because, as you can see, you can get beautiful photos there.
