Why Pink October is so important
Pink October. Today the post is not about fashion, but about a subject that touches us all – directly or indirectly – and, therefore, deserves to be spoken and shared. I am speaking, of course, about the Pink October, a movement that fortunately has been gaining strength in recent years and that focuses precisely on the awareness and prevention of Breast Cancer.
As you know, cancer is a very close reality to me (my mother died a victim of it, although not of the breast but of the stomach) and, therefore, I know so damn well its corrosive contours, fear, anguish, and destruction that it brings.
Of course, there are many types of cancer that are not noticeable in the early stages but what we can do to prevent it must be done. For us, for our well-being.
So, do the self-examination regularly, do the mammograms requested by your doctors and mammograms. Do all the health tests frequently and do not leave for tomorrow. It may be too late.
Unfortunately, no one is free to be chosen by bad luck and have cancer. It's a demonic lottery that we're all exposed to just because we exist. But if we can prevent don’t be chosen by it, then let's do it.
Of course, no one likes to make health tests. And, I must confess, after so many hours spent with my mother at the hospital, I still have a knot in my stomach whenever I have to go there or make examinations. But it has to be, and what has to be has a lot of strength. It’s better to take a test than to be too late, right?
Our health is our most precious treasure. It is what, above all, allows us to be who we are, to do what we want to do and to fight for everything we want. When life plays us a trick it is as if, suddenly, an abyss opens up in front of us.
So take care and bet on prevention. There are many cases where this alone is not enough but in so many others it is. Who knows what will be ours?
Unfortunately, no one is free to be chosen by bad luck and have cancer. It’s a demonic lottery that we’re all exposed to just because we exist. But if we can prevent don’t be chosen by it, then let’s do it.
To all women (and men too) who fight against this villain, my greatest respect and affection. You are already winners. Because only those who face cancer know what that bastard does to the body and to the soul. To life as we know it.
Therefore, fight for your existence and uphold in your inner strength and those that matter to you. And believe me. There is always a chance of getting out of this. Fight for it.
