What to wear in casual winter Sundays
Sundays. When as a child my parents used to take me on Sunday walks. I mean, from time to time we used to visit new places and cities here in Portugal on Sundays. I confess at the time, I did not care that much. In fact, I had to get grown up to realize that I kept those Sundays in my memory as some of the best moments of my life. I even miss the songs. From the radio echoing the Queen playlist that my father loves and will forever be a return to childhood for me to the Bryan Adams songs, my mother sang by heart.
And it was precisely from one of those memories – from going to Ponte de Lima when I was a little girl – that I had an immense desire to return. So many years has passed and my Ponte de Lima memories tasted like nostalgia and strawberry ice cream.
So many years has passed and my Ponte de Lima memories tasted like nostalgia and strawberry ice cream.
So this past weekend, I took advantage of the motto of my boyfriend’s birthday and prepared a surprise at Ponte de Lima. I mean, I knew I had been happy there, so I wanted to come back. And they say we should always go back to where we were happy, is n’t it?
The idea was to be comfortable so that we could walk and linger in picturesque alleyways like someone who looks at a picture. So that I wore a casual outfit that I love: wool sweater, pants, boots and a warm overcoat of good quality. It’s not the most creative look you’ve ever seen around here, but it’s probably one of the easiest to recreate. Because it is a basic formula for walking Sundays.
Lately, I have felt an even greater desire to create memories. I mean, I do not know if it has to do with the thirty but I know it has done me well. And so, I’d love to challenge you to create your own memories. Not only Instagrammable ones but especially those that live eternally within us, in our hearts and souls. After all, these are the ones we will carry forever, right?
