Spring trend: Ultraviolet
Purple. Pantone has elected ultraviolet as the color of the year. And even if it’s not everyone’s cup of tea I need to say that it’s totally mine. Some people think about purple as a majestic color and some people look at it like if it’s not a color at all. Anyways, everyone agrees that purple or violet is quite a mysterious shade. I don’t know about you, but I love the color – mainly violet even if lilac makes great spring outfits paired with other candy colors – and so that I’m glad it has finally arrived in fashion.

So, yes, if you’re asking yourself if violet is trendy, yes it totally is. Which means we’ll see a lot of purple, violet, and lilac in stores. Good news because as you know if you like these shades, usually it’s really hard to find them in clothes.
Anyways, let me share something with you: I saw this ultraviolet skirt at the beginning of the collection and fell in love with it. But I didn’t buy it, mainly because it was way too expensive. The sales have arrived and it has completely disappeared from the site and from the stores. So, I gave up the idea of buying it. That was when my luck changed. Last week I was at the mall running errands when I went to Uterque just to have a look at the final reductions. And there it was: the ultraviolet skirt waiting for me. It was the only one and luckily it was my size. But, it gets better: the price was with more than 50% off. I mean, this is the proof that the theory I’ve shared with you here works.
Back to ultraviolet: it will be trendy this spring for sure and if you’re into it buy some pieces you love because it will not be a trend forever (and it’s not a common color). But, if purple is not your cup of tea forget the trends and don’t buy anything in this color. If you don’t like it you won’t wear it and so you’ll regret having bought it.
