Carmo’s Boutique Hotel: a dreamy place in the north of Portugal
Hotel. As my boyfriend turned 38 last weekend, we head north to Ponte de Lima for a romantic weekend at Carmo’s Boutique Hotel. A friend of mine had suggested the hotel and I loved it.
With retro-vintage decor and an absolutely incredible spa, it is a perfect destination for anyone looking for a comfortable retreat to get away from the world.
In addition to the cozy room, the delicious breakfast served in Vista Alegre dishes (as I shared on the Instagram, I highly value the details, and a hotel that serves in Porcelain Vista Alegre soon wins my heart) and the lovely staff made our experience amazing.
Actually, the best thing is that there are books, there is a television, there is an indoor pool and jacuzzi. There is a pony (yes, really) and a dollhouse as a shameless invitation to peace of mind. And there is that perfect silence that allows us to lose ourselves.

Our room was huge and had an amazing bathtub perfect for bubble baths. I loved it so much that I wish I was back there right now.
However, despite having loved the hotel (I really want to come back soon), it seems like a destination that makes more sense in winter when the days are cold and all we want is to do nothing with our most special person. For those who have children, it also seems to be an excellent choice for relaxing.
So, if you do not have any plans for the weekend or if you are planning to visit Portugal soon, consider staying at Carmo’s Boutique Hotel. It’s really worth it.
