Winter flowers
Roses. There’s a legend, here in Portugal, that tells that Queen Isabel used to help the poor bringing them bread. But, the king, D. Dinis didn’t like that. One day, the queen was going to take bread to the poor as she usually did, when D. Dinis who was following her, stopped her and asked what did she have in the lap. And, she answered: “are roses, my king”, and a lot of roses fell into the ground. From that moment on she was claimed not only a queen but a saint as well.
The first time i’ve heard this legend was at school when i was a child. And i absolutely loved it. At that time i loved roses already, but from that moment on they didn’t just mean beautiful flowers. They meant the impossible turning into possible too.
Even in the darkest days, there’s beauty in life
Maybe that’s why i love flowers and flower patterns so much. Not just in the sunny days, but all over the year. Flowers give me good vibes and make me feel good. They remind me of the beauty in life and to always see the cup half full. Even in the darkest days, there’s beauty in life.
I don’t know about you, but i truly believe that at the end of the day we receive the vibes we give. And i want to give you good vibes.
Flowers are one of those things that put a smile on my face. So that, i like to think that i’m quite similar to them on what concerns to survive the storms and turning the impossible into possible. Isn’t that what women use to do, after all?
