I went to the Sand Sculpture Festival and loved it!
Fiesa. On the day after the wedding i went to in Algarve we had a free day so we went to the Sand Sculpture Festival. I mean, i had already heard about the sculptures made by sand but i had never seen it myself. Until that day. The Sand Sculpture Festival happens every year in Algarve (south of Portugal), and it is the biggest world event on sand sculpture.
There are a lot of sculptures at the festival and what all of them have in common is the fact of being super realistic.
This year’s theme was musicians, cinema artists, writers and fashion. Sculptures of Mariza, Amy Winehouse, Michael Jackson or Bono made of sand are there for everyone to see. They’re amazing, full of details and facial expressions. Also, there’s a tribute to Chanel in a big book made of sand, off course and to the penguins of the Madagascar movie.

In the place of the exposition there is a cafe, so you can sit and relax watching the figures made of sand. Actually, it’s quite impressive to think it’s all sand.
So, if you happen to be in Algarve now or in the next couple of days, it’s an amazing exposition to visit. It’s open until the end of the month.
