Timeless pieces: this dress is more than 20 years!
Fashion. When i was kid i used to love seeing my mum wearing this navy pattern summer dress. I remember how chic she looked in it and how happy she was every time she was wearing it. Plus, my aunt (my mom’s sister) who used to visit us on summer and was so close to her, had an exactly same dress. Both are unique as they were made to measure and they used to go out wearing it. And i loved it.
I mean, loving a piece like a dress or a blazer has more to do with feelings that with futility. And when that love goes from generation to generation is like every seam has a story to tell.
With this being said, every time anyone asks me why i love fashion so much, i hesitate on the order of the reasons. You see, there are many reasons why i love fashion. From the empowerment nice clothes give to a woman on her self esteem to my interest on tailoring and fabrics. But, in fact, the main reason is the way fashion celebrates affective ties.
I mean, loving a piece like a dress or a blazer has more to do with feelings that with futility. And when that love goes from generation to generation is like every seam has a story to tell. Needless to say, the most value thing anyone can give to another is her life story and love.
So, this dress is more than 20 years old. But, everytime i wear it i feel so incredible proud and pretty. It’s something like carrying a treasure that fits to my body’s curves while celebrating the most beautiful feeling in the world: love.
