Why is Monaco such a magic place?
Monaco. As soon as we’ve seen the board with the words Monaco while driving we realised something good was about to happen after all those curves and tunnels. And we weren’t wrong.
When we finally arrived in Monte Carlo – me dressed in a linen white dress and him in a Lacoste polo and white trousers – it was quite impossible to hide our astonishment. Actually it was like we were part of a Auguste Renoir live painting while admiring it from the outside.
The motor’s snoring - each one even more powerful than the other - are the soundtrack of a place where money is the maestro
I mean, there the yachts (lots of them) are agglomerate at the marina while the owners are leisurely reading the newspaper in nude striped sofas placed next to nice tables decorated with flowers. Off course, in each yacht there is a bombshell with a sculptural body and a body guard.
Down on the street, Ferraris, Rolls Royce and Mclarens compete in the perfectly smooth asphalt. The motor’s snoring – each one even more powerful than the other – are the soundtrack of a place where money is the maestro.
Needless to say, we climbed the hill to the Monte Carlo Casino moved by curiosity. There were a lot of Monaco girls with Chanel shopping bags dressed in their cotton Chloé dresses and leather Hermès slides, walking with the plainness only people who always have been rich do.
Anyway, the true show begins in front of the Monte Carlo Casino. It’s like a 007 movie. Limited edition Ferraris, vintage Porsches, Lamborghinis, Rolls Royce and Mclarens are perfectly parked to be admired by the common mortals. Truth to be said, the Casino area is divided by those who just admire and the players.
To appreciate all the show we’ve decided to grab a coffee at Cafe Paris. It’s quite impressive seeing all the richness and luxury there. Somehow it make us think about life and about the other realities that surround us in the world. I don’t want to sound silly but with so much richness how in this world there are people who have absolutely nothing to eat?
Anyways, as you guys can imagine i could not resist to get into Chanel and Hermès (two of my favorite maisons, by the way) where i haven’t buy anything but where i admired the Classic Flap Bag i hope to buy one day and a handmade scarf that – guess what – i hope to buy too.
It was already dark when we left Monaco. I mean, after our most appreciated coffee at Cafe Paris and some shopping we decided to walk in the streets of the center and see more of the city. Every corner in Monaco breathes richness in a way i haven’t seen before in any other place of the world. I mean, Monaco is such a different amazing place and it’s totally worth the visit.
