Balance. The days of the modern society we’re part of are made of non ending to do lists, new projects every day, a lot of emails to answer and things to do. We convince ourselves that we just can’t stop because being productive is what matters. It doesn’t matter if we’re sinking on coffees every day sleeping less than we should. The world we live in pressure us to do more. Always more.
But, if it’s true that we want to achieve better things chasing our dreams, isn’t it true that sometimes we have to stop to breath too?
I truly believe that’s important to do our best in order to achieve our goals. But i also believe that we should have me time as well, in order to find balance.
Five years ago, i went to visit a friend of mine at the Hospital, and in the same room was a women who had a cva. She was telling to people who visited her that she had never had time for nothing, and there she was with all the time of the world. These words stayed on my mind since then. That situation was an extreme but truth is sometimes is hard to figure out when to stop. And when we do it may be late.
I truly believe that’s important to do our best in order to achieve our goals. But i also believe that we should have me time as well, in order to find balance. At the end of the day, finding balance is the key to get even more productive (and not just tired).
Today is friday (yay) so let’s enjoy some me time. It doesn’t matter if it’s reading a new book, staying in the couch with our person or going out to dinner. Let’s just turn off and find our balance. My plans are to go to the cinema (probably with this outfit that i love) and read some magazines.
It may seems that we don’t need to turn off from time to time but we really do.
