Does the friendship end?
Friendship. Friendship is the safe harbor where we put our hearts knowing will always find some peace. It’s the place where rent is paid on gestures, on a shoulder to cry on, on good vibes. And it definitely is one of the most valuable things in life. To have a friend is to have someone who will always be there for us, without pressures or fears. Accepting us the way we are.
You know, there’s a lot of things that makes us somebody’s friend. But, as any other relationship, friendship calls for constant attention. We have to give a lot of ourselves, and we have to care for our friend as we do for ourselves. That’s what friendship is about: caring for another person.
In a true friendship jealousy is not allowed. How can we be jealous of someone we love? We can’t. Because when we have a true friend, we want for him/her, the same good things we want for ourselves. We want him/her to be happy above all.
That’s what friendship is about: caring for another person.
Anyway, along this road called life i’ve lost some friends. The thing is, there are people who just make sense in a particular time of our life. And friendship ends, like any other thing in life. Some friendships end because we don’t relate to the other person anymore. Or because the person always bring on the worst inside us. Or just because we choose different ways. Or because people are selfish, and friendship is all about not being selfish. There are a lot of reasons. And, to be totally honest, i don’t regret any of those friendships i’ve lost. It doesn’t mean they were fake. It just means that life goes on. Some people come, some people go. Some people leave a mark. Other don’t.
But the people who really matter in our life, will always stay. They will always be there for us.
And these are the people we have to care for. Our one-life true friends.
