How to avoid the so last season drama
Fashion. Everything starts online when you’re scrolling one of those fast fashion sites and you see a pair of shoes to die for. Or a jacket. Or a dress. Then you go to the shop to try it on. You love it on you. Or you think you love it. Actually, this is the critical point where you have to make a decision. But not an emotional one, unless you want your wardrobe full and still have nothing to wear.
My motto is: if it’s from a good fabric, if it’s my style and if i’m in love with it i’ll buy it.
You see, buying trends just because they’re trendy or buying clothes that you won’t wear so much isn’t a good idea. I mean, even if i love a pair of sporty trousers i probably won’t buy it just because my style is not sporty. So, maybe i’ll wear it two or three times, what will not pay the investment.
Obviously, it’s hard to be this rationale when you are in love with a piece. My motto is: if it’s from a good fabric, if it’s my style and if i’m in love with it i’ll buy it. Chances are that i’ll wear it a lot and still love it.
Take this dress for example: i bought it six years ago when i went to Paris with my brazilian bestfriend. It’s all made from cotton and nowadays i still wear it and love it. Honestly, i keep on wearing it every summer.
You see, i was getting tired of this so last season drama. When you buy something and on the next year you hate it. And you don’t wear it because you hate it. The secret to avoid it is to be honest with yourself about how much you love the piece and how good the fabric is. IF you really love it you’ll love wearing it for a long time even if it’s a little bit eccentric.
So, be picky about what you shot. After all you’re spending your money on it so best it is a good choice, right?
