A matter of perspective
Life is a matter of perspective. When in Lisbon, we decided to have a walk at Champalimaud Foundation, an amazing place by the river. And, while we are walking and feeling the sun on our skins, I felt such a great inner peace. I don’t know if it was due to the place’s atmosphere or if it was because I felt blessed, but truth is on that moment I felt good being me, even if I didn’t a specific reason to.
Anyway, I remembered a quote a friend of mine use to say: life is a matter of perspective. At that moment, from my perspective, it was a beautiful day. I truly believe in that quote.
We all face challenges and bad moments in life. But it’s how we see it that determines how we’ll deal with it. Our perspective. And our perspective on things is what make us feel an inner peace or a hell inside our hearts.
Life isn’t all about circumstances. They exist, for sure. But we have a word to say, in our lives. And I want mine to be a nice one.
Some of us prefer to see the glass half empty. But I’d rather see it half full. I know life isn’t easy. I’ll fail, I’ll have to face troubles and losses. I’ll feel lost. But I’ll also see the sunrise. I’ll live good moments, draw smiles and face success. Because life isn’t all about circumstances. They exist, for sure. But we have a word to say, in our lives. And I want mine to be a nice one.
For example, when I bought this military jacket I’m in love with (I also wore it here) and that I was wearing at Champalimaud Foundation, I was with a friend of mine whom said that it was a total waste of money, as I was just going to wear it once. I didn’t pay attention to her. You see, I found this jacket truly awesome, and my perspective on it was that I would wear it many times. And I did, by the way.
My friend’s perspective was totally different from mine. And that is ok. Our perspectives are a result of who we are, what we’ve lived and what we believe in. That’s why perspective is such a unique thing.
So that, don’t ever be afraid of having a perspective. No one knows what the best perspective is. But it doesn’t matter after all. What really matter is to stay true to ours.
Doing it allows us to catch the inner peace. And that is such a great feeling.
