Wandering around Batalha Monastery
Goals. One of the goals i’ve set to 2016 was to visit more monuments. I live in a country full of palaces, churches, castles, monasteries, you name it. In few words: full of history and culture. So, it was kind of a waste not to know at least some of them.
Especially because History was one of my favorite subjects at school. I still know the names of all Portuguese kings and queens. Pretty impressive, hun?
I’ve already gone to Batalha Monastery when i was a child, but it was nice to visit it with adult eyes. Plus, i’ve paid way to more attention to the details now.
The Gothic and Manueline architecture is pretty amazing and magnificent. I just loved all the details, and get so inspired with the huge edifice itself. Architecture crush, for sure. The gardens are awesome too, and it’s quite easy to imagine our people ancestors and monks walking around with a peaceful state of mind.

Even if i love monuments, i have to share a little secret with you: when i want to visit one i always try to go early in the morning. It’s way less crowded, and it’s the perfect time to take really nice pics.
Talking about taking pics: on that day i was wearing a navy summer dress that i absolutely love so i really needed to shoot it for you. As i knew we would have to walk a lot, i’ve chosen my white and Gold plated Adidas to go with it.
A casual on the go outfit.
If it happens that you’re in Portugal or planning some trip to the country don’t miss Batalha Monastery. You’ll love it.
