Em Carne Viva, Vegan Restaurant
Vegan. The name, Em Carne Viva, is kind of curious in Portuguese for a vegan restaurant. However, this is one of the best vegans in Oporto. Placed on number 868 at Avenida da Boavista, it’s totally worth the visit if you happen to be around.
When you enter the restaurant it is like you’re in another era. The Belle Époque era. The walls and the ceilings have craved in it leaves and grapes sculpted in biscuit porcelain. The rooms are beautiful, full of light and amazing details such as natural flowers. Such a dreamy place!
Even if the day outside is cold, like they have been lately, there are two fireplaces on the restaurant, one in each room.
We sat on the blue room (there’s also the purple one) on a table where we were able to see the garden, behind the house.

Talking about the food, it was absolutely de-li-cious. You see, the mushroom risotto i ate there was the best risotto i’ve ever eaten in my all life. Perfect and full of different flavors and textures. The staff was courteous and nice, like the place itself.
Em Carne Viva is amazingly cozy and my favorite vegan in Oporto (maybe it’s one of my favorite places, after all). Opened from Monday to Thursday from 12h00 pm to 22h00 pm, and on Fridays and Saturdays until 23h00 pm.
